Claudia Law

Textile Artist
Color, texture, and creating the illusion of depth, movement, and transparency, are my focus.
I work from a base of high-grade quilting cotton, on which I use multimedia applications, beading, thread sketching, 3-D fabric motifs, and folded fabrics of all types.
I’ve been a visual artist for decades, having designed and sewn garments, created my own needlework designs, worked in stage design, as a photo stylist, and for years having my own business in Manhattan, N.Y, painting backdrops for commercial photography. After decades of experimentation in other media, I’ve found my niche, as far as a medium in which I am able to express myself through my art. That medium is quilting cotton, adorned with Multimedia treatments.
I do all my own piecing and quilting, including some free-motion machine stitching, both for decorative purposes and for quilting. In my quilted landscapes, I love to capture the illusion of transparency and luminosity or luster, by using light-reflective paints, and to paint in shadows and reflections on “water”.
John Weston

Woodworking
John primarily utilizes local, highly figured lumber incorporating simplistic designs to highlight the natural beauty of select woods. Benches, tables, cutting boards, trays, boxes, turned bowls and a variety of other work will be on display. All work is reasonably priced.
