Black History Month
Ashland Art Works is happy to sponsor the artwork of a diverse group of artists in our Creekside Gallery for the Month of February.
The Lakota Meditation Center’s Co-Founder, Mmmingpha HruAhtm, has brought together a kaleidoscope of Indigenous Based Artwork featuring a number of diverse artists. Mmmingpha’s intent is to not only bring together people of different ethnicities to benefit the younger generations in growth, but to also serenely influence its viewers with the genuine meanings of the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha. Moyo is Swahili for heart, and as viewers absorb the themes of the Dhammapada during the Art Walk, it is the intent that the teachings are embraced in the hearts of the viewers and utilized in the necessities of life.
