Please join us April 7th
for the First Friday Art Walk
AAW is pleased to be a part of the Ashland Gallery Association’s First Friday Art Walk, this Friday, April 7th with extended hours to 8pm.
April is our kick-off month to highlight our Featured Artists. This month we are featuring our Associate Artist Members:
Connie Simonsen, Suzanne Etienne,
Roxanne Evans Stout and Sandra Davis.
First Friday Film
In addition to our Featured Artists, On First Friday one of our newest members, Dave Leibowitz, will be screening a selection of his video art films on the Main gallery side porch. Dave is a student of experimental films and in the 70’s, was a participant in the birth of Video Art as a new art form. He has been making his own films ever since.
A BFA in Cinema in 1976 and 41 years in the Film industry have given this artist the knowledge and experience to create these innovative and meditative movies as part of his full time artist practice.
Featured Artists

Connie Simonsen
Hand Painted Silk Scarves
Connie Simonsen expresses her vision through color, while painting in an abstract way on luscious silk. Finding symbolism inspired by nature, be it from skies to earthy likenesses such as petrified wood or the depths of the ocean, all images reflect the pristine imagery of her surroundings.

Suzanne Etienne
Acrylic Paintings
Suzanne uses paint with abandon, giving joy and pop to her paintings! Tablescapes and vignettes filled with quirky objects – bold, bright tablecloths, flowers and books – cats and birds – all holding a moment in time.
Life, wisdom, heart and dreams are Suzanne’s focus now. Anticipating renewal of spring, with warmth and abundance.

Roxanne Evans Stout
Mixed Media
Roxanne lives and creates in her home and studio above the Klamath River and below the Cascade Mountains. This land is her constant inspiration.
Roxanne’s art primarily takes the form of collage and her pieces include backgrounds of many layers and textures. These are often filled with symbols and marks that are both mysterious and seem to come from another time. Through her art she would like to convey the feeling of connectedness, timelessness and re-creation.

Sandra Davis
Oil Paintings
As a former member of AAW, Sandra is happy to be back.
Born in San Diego, CA, Sandra began drawing with her grandmother when she was eight years old. Art in the form of drawing and painting has flowed in and out of her life ever since.
Paints mostly in oil – loves its juiciness, paints what she loves – animals, birds, landscapes, portraits. Painting is a long and ever evolving process acquired through practice and constant adaptation.
Sandra is still learning.
