Ashland Art Works is pleased to announce our two featured artists for the month of May:
Cheryl Kempner and Liz Ellingson

CHERYL KEMPNER
I create art that makes me smile. I hope that visitors will stroll by my whimsical metal trees and smile, too. I cut rusted steel with a plasma torch. Often the scraps that fall to the floor inspire new ideas for yet another piece. My husband does the welding and both of us do the powder coating. I am pleased that as a seventyish-year old woman, I can still create and share these fun pieces of artwork.

Liz Ellingson
In addition to being a jeweler, Liz has added mixed media paintings to her creations. Her jewelry is made with her own custom cut cabochons/stones, set in unique sterling silver, hand fabricated settings. The painting bug returned after many years of being put on the back burner. Liz’s current mixed media paintings are created with a unique technique that resembles a print maker, and also using some found ephemera and custom created collage material.
