Put a Lid on it
As featured artist this month Bonnie Morgan decided to continue her exploration of making lidded jars.
DAVE LEIBOWITZ
I’m an East Coast transplant, a freelance video tech in the NYC Film biz and a working artist since the 70’s. Retired to the beautiful Rogue Valley, I’m creating art 100% of the time now and thrilled to be a member of Ashland Art Works and this community.
I received a BFA Cinema, minor in photography from the University of Bridgeport in 1976, was an official Polaroid artist in the 80’s, a pioneer of Computer Art in the 90’s and in 2008, present for the birth of iPhoneography and the Mobile Art movement. I’ve been exhibiting since the 1980’s first of 16 solo Soho shows, NJ Museum exhibitions and since 2009, over a dozen International exhibitions related to Mobile Digital Art.
In 2013, I authored Mobile Digital Art- Using the iPad and iPhone as Creative Tools published by Focal Press and I continue teaching today, helping individuals explore the techniques and esthetics of making visual art on their mobile devices.
My artwork is visually diverse, moving between old school vintage photography and more challenging digital or physical collage. I’ll be featuring primarily my current work, but will sprinkle in some popular images from my catalog that goes back to the 70’s.
I’m drawn to the backroads and the stark natural beauty of the mountains, forests, farms and the creatures that live here. The simplicity and beauty is intoxicating and my goal is to captivate and inspire the viewer with my work. Enjoy!
Community Art Space
TIFFANY WYATT
Tiffany creates vibrant art inspired by nature, color, and her sensory experience of the world. Her journey often begins with a creek. Then usually an animal friend. Sometimes a prism. Vessels of creek and spring waters line her windowsill, and refracting light through these waters often guides her color inspiration. The results have been described as “cosmic and earthy”. She predominantly works in watercolor, pastels, acrylic, and gouache.
Her whimsical art also celebrates vulnerable aspects of nature and conservation advocacy. Nature advocacy is a familial pursuit, and Tiffany’s art empowers this legacy. She has also created murals/pieces for (and with) children at local schools, the Children’s Festival, Southern Oregon Monarch Advocates, Farm Bus Bistro, and Pollinator Project Rogue Valley. Her pieces are vibrant, hopeful, and engaging.
